Overview
Launched in early November 2007, Museum Victoria’s new website was developed and delivered almost entirely in-house by MV staff.
Incorporating the Museum’s new visual identity throughout, the site features consistent navigation across all venues, greatly improved search functionality/discoverability of online resources and a rich overall user experience.
Background
The project produced a framework for the ongoing management and growth of our online activities into the future, with three key outcomes:
- Implementation of a Content Management System (CMS) enabling dynamic delivery of content, along with improved capacity for ongoing management.
- A redesigned web architecture that:
- improves searching, discovery and access to content
- updates information delivery systems
- aligns with Museum Victoria strategic directions and brand hierarchy
- improves standards compliance
- produces a new and refreshed website design.
- Effective integration of future web development into Museum Victoria activities, by outlining information work flows along with roles and responsibilities of those staff accountable for web content.
